Meet Dr. Sky L. Shelby II

B.S., D.C., P.A.K., F.I.A.M.A.

Originally from Mason, Ohio, and 2014 graduate of William Mason High School, Dr. Shelby began his Chiropractic journey at Life University just north of Atlanta, Georgia. While earning his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, he stumbled upon an amazing technique known as Applied Kinesiology (AK). It was then throughout the rest of his undergraduate and through the entirety of his Chiropractic program that he began to dedicate most of his time to studying the vast amount of tools that AK and its derivatives had to offer. In June 2021, Dr. Shelby graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life University earning his Doctorate of Chiropractic. He arrives back in Cincinnati eager to serve the passionate people that he grew up around. In his free time, Dr. Shelby enjoys college football, reading, and expanding upon his knowledge of Applied Kinesiology. He looks forward to meeting you at Root Cause Wellness Center and hopes he can be the right choice for you!

Why Applied Kinesiology?

At Root Cause Wellness Center, we offer Applied Kinesiology as a means for assessment of the body. Applied Kinesiology philosophically puts highest emphasis on an understanding that there are three primary things that can result in an insult to the nervous system: physical traumas, thoughts, and toxins. Therefore, your complaint can be of structural, chemical, or emotional origin. Applied Kinesiology uses manual muscle testing as a biofeedback mechanism to first locate the area(s) influencing your complaint, and then challenging the nervous system to find if the area in distress is of mechanical, biochemical, or emotional cause. Approaching chiropractic care this way often allows for more efficient results that hold longer and help you feel better sooner!
